Employment Discrimination

Boston Workplace Discrimination Lawyer

My employment discrimination practice began as an offshoot of my personal injury practice. In representing people who were seriously injured or disabled in accidents, I found that they returned to me with another legal problem: discrimination in the workplace, coming back as damaged goods to be terminated.

Advocacy for Disabled Employees in Massachusetts

I started out representing people who had been wrongfully discharged from their jobs after being injured in construction accidents, industrial accidents, work-related or private motor vehicle accidents, and other accidents. I became known as a tough litigator who would not back down before adversaries, such as my clients' employers, who were clearly looking to terminate the injured employee. Wrongful Termination

Although it is often legal for employers to let employees go as a business decision, there are certain circumstances in which a wrongful discharge becomes a legitimate case to bring before a court. In particular, when an employer has more than five or six employees, an employer is expected to be prepared to make reasonable accommodations for disabled employees. This often applies to employees who have been injured, and are capable of being productive employees when given a reasonable accommodation.

Employment Discrimination on the Basis of Age, National Origin

Over time, my workplace discrimination practice grew to include other forms of discrimination besides failure to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. We represent employees who have been targets of retaliatory discharge in connection with allegations of sexual harassment that they made against their employers. Additionally, I handle workplace discrimination cases arising from disallowed practices involving racial harassment or discrimination, age discrimination, pregnancy discrimination, or discrimination based on national origin.
